Camp Thunderbird
Great Rivers Council

Located north of Moberly and 7 miles east of Cairo, Missouri, where 555 acres of mostly level grassy terrain and beautiful woodlands greet Scouts. Thunderbird features a 27-acre artificial lake, 12 spacious campsites, new central shower facilities, three family cabins, and a new medical lodge. Because of its uniqueness, the camp is a great place to work on Ecology/Conservation merit badges. A new and ultra-modern central dining hall is in operation for the first time in 1997. A good traditional Boy Scout summer camp program is offered including wilderness survival and hiking outpost adventures.

Other program opportunities offered at Camp Thunderbird include four days of Cub Scout Day Camp centered on a theme, and Parent/Pal, a Saturday through Sunday morning activity which includes crafts, swimming, boating, fishing, BB gun shooting, and archery. The Bear/Webelos Weekend permits parents and young Scouts the opportunity to visit a Boy Scout camp and to participate in a wealth of fun-filled activities. Cub Scout/Webelos Scout Resident Camp makes week-long camp an exciting adventure through which young Scouts can earn achievements as well as get that real camping experience. The Cub Scout Mini Resident Camp is just as fun, but shorter.
