The race will be held March 22, 2003 at the (Kingdom Expo Center?), Fulton MO. Registration will begin at 9 am and racing will begin at approximately 10 am. 2. The race will sponsored by Pack 50, Bush School, Fulton. The Fulton Breakfast Optimist Club and Pack 50 will manage the race. 3. Official BSA Pinewood Derby car length and 5-ounce weight rules apply. 4. The entry fee is ____ per car, to be used to cover the cost of awards. 5. Each scout may register only one car. The car shall have been constructed this school/scouting year. Cars constructed for races from prior years will not be permitted. Cars need not have been entered in a Pack race previously. The race is open, and cars need not have won a position in a Pack race to be entered. 6. The cars will be grouped according to age of the scout builder - Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos. Webelos I and II will be combined. Webelos II scouts who have crossed over but who built and raced a car in a Pack race this year will be allowed to enter. Trophies will be awarded for the top three places in each group. The top three entries in each group will be allowed to enter the Championship race to determine the winner of the Grand Champion trophy. 7. The race will be managed using the Pinewood Derby Master race management software program see attached. Cars will race on a six-lane track, eliminated after 8 losses, with the number of heats to be determined on race day. Finishes will be determined by the "Lane Brain" electronic finish line system. A backup race management plan, attached, will only be used in the case that the race managers, through further testing, determine the software is not reliable. If so, it will be announced prior to the race. 8. Concessions will be provided by Troop 53, Fulton.
