The Great Rivers Council is excited to bring you a number of leader training opportunities this year at the University of Scouting. Join us for a day of learning, fun, and fellowship with other Scouters from across the Council! University of Scouting offers an assortment of classes in the areas of administration, program enhancement, outdoor activities, and other areas. You can earn (over time) your Associate, Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate in Scouting. There are three types of classes being offered:

Advanced Cubleader Training (ACT - which includes BALOO).

Stand Alone Classes (YPT, Leader Specific for Cubs and Scouts, Den Chief, CPR/First Aid, Dutch Oven Cooking). Stand-Alone classes vary in length. Youth Protection will be offered at 8:00am so everyone (except ACT participants) can take it before the stand-along and regular University of Scouting classes begin.

Stand-along classes (of varying lengths) are available - Cub Leader Specific, Scout Leader Specific (SM/ASM), Dutch Oven cooking, Den Chief training (youth), CPR/First Aid (additional cost). These begin at 10am to allow participants to also take Youth Protection beforehand.

University of Scouting Classes - a variety of hour-long classes of interest to both Cub and Scout leaders.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
- 7:30am - Adult Cub Training (ACT) & Youth Protection class check-In
- 8:00am - ACT & Youth Protection Classes begins
- 9:00-10:00am - University of Scouting & Stand-Alone class check-in
- 10:00am - University of Scouting & Stand-Alone classes begin
- 12:00pm - Lunch
- Classes end at varying times.
What: University of Scouting offers a variety of class for adult leaders to take in order to expand the adult leaders knowledge in specific subject areas
Who: All registered Scouters and Scout parents who wish to provide the best Scouting experience for the youth in their programs. A K-5th grade Scout oriented program will be available for adults that are participating in the University of Scouting and are looking for something for their children to do. This program will have an additional registration fee.
Where: Community United Methodist Church
Cost: $25.00 if registered by the early-bird deadline of March 15, 2019. This includes a bag lunch, event patch and materials needed for the course. After March 15, registrations will be considered late and will incur a $5 late fee (no lunch). NO registrations will be accepted after March 20, 2019, including the day of the event.
