ATTENTION ALL TROOPS:
It is highly suggested that leaders attend merit badge classes with any Scouts that may be disruptive. PLEASE DO NOT DROP AND RUN!! The Scout will not be allowed to participate.
Schedule:
8:00 am Troop Check-In
8:30 am Flag Ceremony and Announcements at TJ Middle School
8:40 am Merit Badge Classes Start
Lunch ***Pizza is available for an additional cost of $5.00 per person and booked with registration packet – 2 slices pizza, cookie, bottle of water.***

3:00-3:15 pm Merit Badge Classes End (approximate time)
3:30-4:00 pm Closing Ceremony

CITIZENSHIP IN THE NATION
Prerequisites:
3. Watch the national evening news five days in a row OR read the front page of a major daily newspaper five days in a row. Discuss the national issues you learned about with your counselor. Choose one of the issues and explain how it affects you and your family.
8. Name your two senators and the member of Congress from your congressional district. Write a letter about a national issue and send it to one of these elected officials, sharing your view with him or her. Show your letter and any response you receive to your counselor.
DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Prerequisites:
1. Show your counselor your current, up-to-date Cyber Chip. This is a must or else you will be placed in another class.
ELECTRICITY
Prerequisites:
2. Complete an electrical home safety inspection of your home, using the checklist found in the Electricity merit badge pamphlet. Discuss what you find with your counselor.
FIRE SAFETY
Prerequisites:
6. Conduct a home safety survey with the help of an adult. Then do the following:
a. Draw a home fire-escape plan, create a home fire-drill schedule, and conduct a home fire drill.
HOME REPAIR - Bring your Class B uniform. You will be getting dirty.
LAW
Prerequisites:
4. Ask five people (not more than one from your immediate family) about the role of law enforcement officers in our society. Discuss their answers with them. Go to a law enforcement officer in your neighborhood and ask about his or her responsibilities and duties. Report your findings.
PLUMBING - Bring your Class B uniform. You will get dirty.
SEARCH AND RESCUE
Prerequisites:
5. You will need to complete the ICS-100 (Introduction to Incident Command System) certification to better understand the other requirements and class discussions. Bring your certificate to class to receive credit.
