Reservation
Required for Use of Council Properties
Recently our properties have had a rather large number of incidents involving registered members of our Council and non-members. These incidents have included trespassing, vandalism of facilities, and destruction of our grounds. These types of activities are unacceptable if we want to maintain and protect our valuable resources and camps.
So as a reminder to a longstanding council policy, when a unit or individuals want to visit, camp, or conduct an activity on any of our council properties, a camping reservation must be made at our council service center.
This
includes individuals who are reviewing an area for an upcoming camporee or
klondike derby, a unit leader trying to drop off a trailer the day prior to a
camporee, or someone looking over a building for an upcoming court of honor or
pack meeting.
If
you have not made a reservation with the council service center, the camp ranger
will ask you to leave the property. No
exceptions will be made, regardless of whether it is for a Scouting or a
non-Scouting group.
It is imperative that our camp rangers know who is on our property. This policy is set for our Scout’s and Scouter’s safety as well as for the protection of our facilities and camp rangers.
Please remember, our properties have been created and designed for unit activities.
If you would like a reservation form, please download one from http://www.bsa-grc.org/camping/short term reservation.pdf or call the service center to request one to be mailed or faxed to you.
