Cub Scout Resident Camp The Highlight of Your Program Year.
Promotion of the fun, adventure, and opportunities of resident camps can get lost in the shuffle unless it is automatically programmed into every month of the den calendar.
A special meeting
with parents should be scheduled each winter to heighten the Scouts interest and
inform parents of the many benefits of sending their sons to camp.
Have Scouts and leaders who went to camp last year bring their pictures
to the meeting.
Another suggestion
is to post a camp sign-up sheet at your meeting. Review this chart frequently to see that all Cub Scouts are
registered for camp.
Whatever plans you
eventually adopt, a qualified adult leader and other parents must accompany the
den to camp. Start recruiting your camp leaders now!
Cub Scout camp provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the Scouts in your den and establish a pattern of working together with their parents.
