Tips on selling
popcorn.
(Scout Leaders Guide)

Get as many adults involved in the selling as possible. They will feel important and will understand the importance of a good sales.

Unit leader and unit popcorn chairperson go to district popcorn training (free food).

Have the Scouts practice their sales speech. Play "Knock-knock, whose there?".

Make sure everyone knows the products. The cost, delivery date and what the money is going to be spent fore.

Start early on deciding on how you are going to spend the money and let the Scouts know so they can get enthused about selling.

Read tips for parents and tips for Scouts and traps so you can explain them to everyone, and make sure they have a copy.

Enthusiasm is contagious and so is apathy. So, one of your jobs as leader is to be the most enthused one in your Scout unit.

Make a copy of ALL order forms. Next year these can be used as a starting list of contacts. If a Scout has dropped out then his list can be passed on to someone else. These are almost 100% sales.
