Structure: A unit can earn up to 37% of Gross Sales in profit! ¨ 25% Base Unit Commission (You sell popcorn, you will get 25% of gross sales in commission). ¨ 5% of gross sales bonus if you attend your district’s popcorn kickoff, turn your popcorn orders and money in on time, pick up popcorn on time and submit an annual budget and program plan to your district’s popcorn chairman. ¨ 5% of gross sales if you opt out of the council’s prize program. ¨
2% of gross sales bonus if your unit has a 25% increase in gross
sales over 2000. (To qualify, a
unit must have sold popcorn in 2000. Prize
Program ¨ In 2001, the Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America, has contracted with Keller Marketing to handle the prize program. ¨ Prize order forms are due when your popcorn order is due. Prizes will be shipped from prize company on December 14, 2001. Any prize changes or additions made after November 29th will not be received by the unit until the first week in January. NO EXCEPTIONS! ¨
Prizes and patches will be mailed directly to the Units Leader’s
name that appears on the order form, NO
POST OFFICE BOXES. ¨ A Scout may select one or more prizes as long as the total of the prize levels does not exceed the prize level attained. Example: If you sell $350, you may select ONE prize from the $300 level…OR…three prizes from the $100 level…OR…six prizes from the $50 level. ¨ Every Scout that sells at least one container of popcorn will receive a patch. ¨ Pins will be available only to units requesting them and will not be available until after January 1, 2002 ¨ If a Scout sells grosses at least $1,000.00 in sales, he will receive his choice a camping package or a $50.00 gift certificate from Wal-Mart, Toys-R-Us, or Blockbuster Video. These prizes are in addition to the Great Rivers Council’s prize program. The Scout’s name MUST be submitted with the unit order for processing. ¨ $2,000.00 sellers qualify for the Trails End Scholarship program. ü To Qualify for the program: a) You must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America b) You must have sold a minimum of $2,000.00 during your qualifying year. c) You must submit the scholarship form and copies of completed take order forms to Trails End, signed by the Popcorn Staff Advisor, by January 18, 2002. d)
You must have a Social Security Number. ü After you qualify, the program: a) Credits you account with 6% of your gross sales, up to a maximum of $1000.00 per sale year. (For example, $2000.00 in sales x 6% = $120.00 in credit.) b) You account will earn interest (compounded annually) at a rate equal to the prime rate as set by the Wall Street Journal on January 1st of each year. c)
Semi-annual statements will be issued in February and August. ü To receive Scholarship payments: a) You must be between the ages of 18 and 24. b) You must be a registered full time student at a national or state accredited college or university, vocational, or technical school. c) You must provide verification of enrollment by submitting to Trail’s End a class schedule issued by the Registrar’s office. d)
Trails’ End will send payment
in the amount of your credits plus interest to your school to be applied to
tuition, books/materials, and room and board. Materials: ¨ Take Order forms have been redesigned with larger area for names and addresses. The different product columns are color-coded. Products are ordered most to least expensive. The Take Order form is less confusing and is single side of the page to encourage boys to fill an order form more easily. “70% profit to Scouting” is prominently displayed on form. ¨ Posters explaining the popcorn sale will be mailed to each boy in mid-October. No sales forms will be mailed to Scouts. ¨ Mini Order forms will be given to each unit in bundles of 250. Don't get all tied up in knots over popcorn. Go to your district popcorn training and kick-off to learn all about his years product and prizes. You will be taught how to fill out the forms and who to contact if you have questions. We want to help you have a successful fundraiser. Let us train your group and make life easy on all of us. Use the system instead of trying to re-invent it, go to the training and find out how the system works. Trails End has made it easy for us to sell popcorn by having a good product that will bring repeat customers year after year. Make selling popcorn an easy and fun experience. Start by picking a popcorn chairperson early and getting him/her trained at your district kick-off and training dinner. Have co-chairpersons if you have a large troop or pack and start early on promoting popcorn to the Scouts and Scouters. |
