The University of Scouting has a variety of training sessions available for Scouters, volunteers, and parents to attend during the course of the day. You can choose courses from any one area or from several different areas as will best meet your training needs. Each area is indicated below, click to see the options.

COURSES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS

A18:35COOKING (3 hours) This class will be hands on and is designed to show various types of cooking for all programs of the BSA. Safety and sanitation will also be discussed.
A210:25INTERNET SCOUTING RESOURCES Explore some of the many tools available to make your unit communications, advancement tracking and reporting easier and faster.
A38:35GUIDE TO SAFE SCOUTING & ITS FORMS Regulations to keep Scouts & Scouters safe. This class also offers information on what forms are required, when they are required, who sees them and why they are needed.
A41:05NATIVE AMERICAN CRAFTS & LORE Exploration of Native American Lore and crafts. Ideas from this class are sure to be a big hit with all ages.
A52:55RELIGIOUS AWARDS Various religious awards are available for youth and adults. This class offers information on these awards, which are sure to be the most treasured of any Scout or Scouter.
A610:25WEBELOS TO SCOUT TRANSITION Guide your Scouts and their parents to make wise decisions on which Troop to join and how to keep them involved once they make that choice.
A72:00MANAGING UNIT FINANCES What you need to know about setting up a budget, ideas for fundraising and resources available to help individuals scouts.
A810:25LEAVE NO TRACE What you need to go backpacking and the latest BSA techniques for low impact camping and "Leave No Trace" requirements.
A99:30WOOD BADGE What is it? Ticket ideas and ticket follow-up.
A101:05SCOUTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS Learn how to better assist scouts with special needs both at meetings and while camping.

T78:35DEN CHIEF TRAINING (8 hours) Training for the Boy Scout who wants to fulfill the Leadership requirement for advancement by being a Den Chief with a Cub den. Scoutmaster approval is required.
T88:35BACHELOR OF COMMISSIONER SCIENCE (8 hours)
T98:35MASTER OF COMMISSIONER SCIENCE (8 hours)
T108:35RED CROSS FIRST AID AND C.P.R. (6 hours) First Aid certification is good for 3 years and C.P.R. certification is good for 1 year. There is a $20.00 charge for this course.

BOY SCOUT LEADER

CUB SCOUT LEADER

C12:00CEREMONIES, SONGS AND SKITS (2 hours)Put some Razzle, Dazzle and Pizzazz into your pack meetings. Learn how to lead songs, when to use skits and sparklers and how to get those parents who always sit in the back of the room involved.
C21:05CRAFTS Craft ideas for Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos. Including crafts in your den is fun for the boys and provides them with the opportunity to learn new skills & gain confidence while expressing their creativity & imagination.
C38:35GAMES Is there anyone out there that doesn't like to play games? Certainly not any Cub Scouts that we know. Here are some great games you can play with your Den & at Pack meetings.
C42:55SERVICE PROJECTS FOR CUB SCOUTS Choosing age appropriate service projects for Cub Scouts can be a difficult task. Learn what type of projects are suited for Cub Scout age boys and how to keep them "on task" while performing the project.
C59:30PLANNING THE PACK YEAR Confused about what needs to happen and when it needs to happen? This session will help answer your questions and offer ideas for the pack that might need some new ideas. Other topics include how to run a pinewood derby, a space derby and rain gutter regattas.
