SCOUT LEADER OUTDOOR ORIENTATION
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills is the outdoor training course that is required for non-committee positions. This course is designed for Pack and Den Leaders, Boy Scout Leaders, Varsity Team Leaders and Venturing Advisors who have completed New Leader Essentials and their Leader Specific Training.
This course will be offered in the spring (05/02 - 05/04/08). It will also be offered during each session Boy Scout summer camp. Districts may also offer the session with the approval of the Council training committee. The cost of the course will vary depending on the location and the meals being prepared.

TRAINER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
Trainer Development Conference is geared towards teaching Great Rivers Council and district training teams, including roundtable chairs, how to carry out effective training events. Focus will be on planning and presentation skills. The Trainer Development Conference will be offered twice during 2008 (January 26, 2008 and August 30, 2008).
 
WOOD BADGE
Wood Badge is the premier training course of the Boy Scouts of America, and is open to registered leaders from Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, and Venturing. This training is designed specifically to develop the leadership skills of the adult leaders in attendance. In order to attend Wood Badge, leaders must have completed basic leader training.
Wood Badge for 2008 will be a six day course. Participants must register with the Great Rivers Council service center to take this training. 2008 course dates are July 28 through August 2, 2008.

SILVER BARS NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Silver Bars National Advanced Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. The course uses a national syllabus which incorporates the latest leadership ideas and presents fresh, vital, and meaningful training for today's Scouts.

NATIONAL ADVANCED YOUTH LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
The new National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE) is an exciting new program of the Philmont Training Center where young men enhance their leadership skills in the Philmont Backcountry. Scouts will expand upon the team building and ethical decision making skills learned in National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). NAYLE uses elements of the Philmont Ranger Training as well as advanced Search and Rescue skills to teach leadership, teamwork and the lessons of selfless service. NAYLE will offer Scouts an unforgettable backcountry wilderness experience where they live leadership and teamwork, using the core elements of NYLT to make their leadership skills intuitive.
