The Great Rivers Council is excited to host the Boy Scouts of America Online Chess Tournament. This online tournament will be available to all Scouts BSA, Venturing Scouts, & Explorers. There is no prior-experience requirement to compete.

The Virtual Chess Tournament will be run through ChessKid, an online Chess-learning tool. Learn more by going to www.chesskid.com


Registration Instructions:
Registration will be split between 2 groups: Missouri Scouts & Non-Missouri Scouts.  If you are in Great Rivers Council, Heart of America Council, Greater Saint Louis Area Council, Ozark Trails Council, or Pony Express Council, please register in the Missouri Scout group. All other Scouts, please register in the non-Missouri Scout group.

Step 2: Once you click on your respective link, you will be redirected to the ChessKid registration page. You should see the following:

Select your avatar/character and click on choose
Step 4: You should see the following

Complete the registration form

  • Your username should be the initials of your council, your first name, and your unit number. For example, John Smith who is part of the Great Rivers Council and in Troop 1 would be GRCJohn1. Usernames will be approved within 24 hours. You should receive an email from ChessKid, when your username is approved.
  • A parent/guardian email is required
