Doroghazi Eagle  Scout Award

The intent of this award is to recognize and reward Eagle Scouts for their hard work, thrift, and continued success as they enter adult life. Outstanding achievement in any field will be recognized, with preference given to those who will be tomorrow’s leaders in Business, Science, Finance, Engineering and the professions of Medicine & Law, and who have served in the Armed Forces.

The award is merit-based. No consideration is given to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, socio-economic status of parents, activity or success of other family members in Scouting, or other scholarships or financial aid. This is not a community service award.

Eligibility

  1. Received Eagle Scout Rank from Great Rivers Council.
  2. Born in 1993 or later (1991 if served in Armed Forces)
  3. Must have completed 60 hours of college.
  4. No convictions aside from minor traffic offense. NO EXCEPTIONS. Finalists must agree to a background check.

There will be up to 3 awards of $10,000 each. The award can be received only once. There is no limitation on the number of times you can apply.

Applications are judged by a committee including a representative of the Doroghazi family, the Council President, and the Council Scout Executive. If the applicant is a relative of a Board member, decision is made by the Doroghazi representative and the Scout Executive.

Winners who have committed to attend the awards presentation dinner on Saturday, August 8, 2020 will be announced on the Great Rivers Council website by mid-July.

Recipient must be present at the ceremony to receive the award. Legitimate excuses include

pre-standing commitments, such as wedding, illness or service deployment. If the recipient does not attend the next year’s ceremony, the award is considered never to have been bestowed. The excuse must be approved by the Awards Committee.

Instructions for completing Application

  1. There is no fee to apply.
  2. Application must be postmarked by July 1st.
  3. Official college (and if applicable) graduate school transcript must accompany application.
  4. No letters of reference are required or accepted.
  5. Any material mis-statement of facts will result in immediate disqualification with no chance to re-apply.
