University of Scouting 2019

Community United Methodist Church | Columbia, Mo.

The Great Rivers Council is excited to bring you a number of leader training opportunities this year at the University of Scouting. Join us for a day of learning, fun, and fellowship with other Scouters from across the Council! University of Scouting offers an assortment of classes in the areas of administration, program enhancement, outdoor activities, and other areas. You can earn (over time) your Associate, Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate in Scouting. There are three types of classes being offered:

  • Advanced Cubleader Training (ACT - which includes BALOO).

  • Stand Alone Classes (YPT, Leader Specific for Cubs and Scouts, Den Chief, CPR/First Aid, Dutch Oven Cooking).  Stand-Alone classes vary in length.  Youth Protection will be offered at 8:00am so everyone (except ACT participants) can take it before the stand-along and regular University of Scouting classes begin.

  • Stand-along classes (of varying lengths) are available - Cub Leader Specific, Scout Leader Specific (SM/ASM), Dutch Oven cooking, Den Chief training (youth), CPR/First Aid (additional cost).  These begin at 10am to allow participants to also take Youth Protection beforehand.

  • University of Scouting Classes - a variety of hour-long classes of interest to both Cub and Scout leaders.
